Well, everyone. Yesterday I learned a tough lesson in the real estate business. I had been looking for a rental for someone for almost 2 months. The client did not have the best background, so it was tough to get said client approved for a rental in many communities. The client did some childish things their teen years and they are coming back to haunt them. It seemed like we were getting rejected at every place that had any type of appeal. So, we finally find a property that we had a shot at. We had another offer to compete with, but with some creativity, got ours accepted over the opposing offer! Boom, that’s what I do, right?
So needless to say, I was relieved! Finally, we got this good person into a home! Everyone was happy, so I thought. Upon phoning the client to share the news, they say that they would have to talk to their significant other and they would have escrow to me the next day. Something fishy is happening. The next day comes around, and I get a text saying that the significant other said no. WHAT???!! After getting rejected time after time, I finally figure out a solution for them and this is the answer. WOW..
Lesson Learned: When determining contracts, etc. have ALL deciding parties in room together, or on a call at once. They all may not know the magnitude of decision and the work that has gone into the deal.
